1. Will the memory box fit the container returned by the crematorium? Yes. Our boxes are designed to hold the standard ashes containers used by crematoria across Australia, including both tube and brick formats. The interior compartment measures 318mm (w) x 148mm (d) x 140mm (h). No decanting is required.
2. Do I need to transfer the ashes? No. The container from the crematorium sits directly into the velvet-lined base and is secured with finger screws. You never need to handle the ashes unless you choose to scatter them later.
3. Can I access the ashes if I choose to scatter them later? Yes. The finger screws allow the container to be removed easily when the time comes. The process is straightforward and unhurried.
4. What can I store in the tray? The tray above the ashes compartment is designed to hold the keepsakes that matter most. Photographs, letters, an order of service, a casket nameplate, jewellery, a watch. Whatever you want to keep close and together.
5. Is the box lockable? Yes. Each box is supplied with a key, so the contents can remain private if you wish.
6. How do I care for the box? Wipe with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For lacquer finishes, a gentle microfiber cloth works well. Avoid water and harsh chemicals.
7. What happens to the box after ashes are scattered? The box continues to serve as a home for photographs, letters and other keepsakes. Many people find comfort in having a dedicated place where a loved one's personal items can be kept together and returned to over time.
8. How quickly will my order be dispatched? Orders are dispatched the next business day and delivered free anywhere in Australia.
9. Can I return the box if I change my mind? Yes. We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, provided the box is unused and in its original packaging. Please contact us to arrange a return.
10. Can I add an engraved nameplate? We don't offer engraving directly, but the smooth finish of the box accommodates adhesive plaques and custom nameplates if you wish to personalise it.
